New Years Eve Party & Breakfast
(Reservations REQUIRED for Breakfast)

Commodore Jimmy Taylor, I would like to take this time to thank you for serving as the Executive Officer of the BYC in 1998. You, your committee's and the BYC staff did a fabulous job keeping the club moving forward in our endeavors.

It was your courage and driving force that made our 1st ever $10,000 draw down a grand success. All club members should know that the proceeds from this draw down enabled us to pay for a large portion of our new lounge furniture.

I look forward to having you serve as Long Range Planning Committee Chairman and Past Commodore in 1999.

Thanks again Commodore Taylor for all your efforts in 1998.

Mark Ederer
Vice Commodore

Christmas on the Water
Santa Comes to the BYC

6pm, December 5th

The children's Christmas Party and Christmas on the Water Boat Parade, 6pm. Santa always stops in early at the BYC bringing with him a special gift for each child. Parents, it's up to you to make sure Santa comes prepared. A max of $10 has been set aside for the parcels in Santa's bag (be sure to mark them so each child receives his or her own gift.) F/X File Productions will be on hand to take pictures of Santa and the kids. Although this is a children's party and they get to eat free...Chili will be available for grownups. ($2 per bowl)

December 31st,

the club will be open from 6pm until 2am for a New Year's Eve Party. Breakfast will be served starting at 12:30 am and reservations will be required. Please come by the club to celebrate the start of a New Year.

Highlights of the meeting of the Board of Directors

The Board of Directors approved a new credit card terminal for use at the club. This terminal will make it easier and faster for the club and it's members.

The Club will again host the Gulf Ocean Racing Circuit this coming April 9th, 10th & 11th. We have also been chosen to host the Leukemia Cup Regatta on April 17th and 18th, alternating with the Gulfport Yacht Club each year.

With help from members, work committees will soon start repairing the damage to the pier from Hurricane Georges.

The bar has been completely redone and the new furniture for the lounge and bar stools are in.

The Flying Scots are out of the water for the winter and will have new hoists in the slips for the spring.

The club will be open on New Years Eve by it's members and all profits will be donated to the pier repair fund.
