From the Commodore Thanks to Rock Rhodes for donating the carpet, including installation, at the outside front entrance to the building. Enclosed in the Lee Sheet is a contribution form for voluntary donations to our employees' Christmas bonus fund. Please give this your consideration and be generous, as our employees always serve and tend to us courteously. As noted in the Lee Sheet, a number of events are planned for this month, including Christmas on the Water, ladies auxiliary tea and Santa for the kids. Our New Year's Eve party, which was an enormous success last year, will be held again. Bring a dish, friends and dress casually. My term as commodore ends this month. It has been a rewarding and successful two years for me. What made the difference were the many volunteers and employees who came forward and gave of their time and energy to make this the best yacht club anywhere. I thank and love all of them. Have a happy holiday.

The Green Column Otto! Otto! Otto! How could we ever forget you! "We've grown accustomed to your face; you almost make the day begin" or so the song goes. Otto and Kevin C. put the storage building together after the rest of us had abandoned them. Since I had left, I didn't know Otto was working on it. The additional storage provides a place for our gardening tools, fertilizers, and all the other things I have been hauling around in my van for two years. I can't tell you how good it is to get the smell of "Black Cow" out of my vehicle. We've been cleaning and organizing some of the other storage areas. We found two boxes of "pre-Camille" trophies in the attic. We'll keep them out for a while for those interested in seeing them. They aren't in the best of condition but they are still interesting. Phil had the front walk and the floor on the breezeway cleaned and repainted and the outdoor carpet at the front door and steps has been replaced courtesy of Rock Rhodes. We're trying to improve the appearance of the club wherever we can and we appreciate the member's help with contributions of time, money and materials. We have purchased more camellias. Some of them are being
donated as a memorial to either friends or families. We'll have the details
on those for you soon. Your Gardening Guru
