From the Commodore

First, we would like to express our sympathy to the family of a long time member, Bill Hailey. He was a faithful
member of the lunch bunch, and well all miss his presence.

I’ve had some questions on pool hours, The pool opens when the club does. One hour prior to closing, swimmers are given a notice to clear the pool area. Pool is closed all day on Monday for cleaning and chemical treatment.

I’d like to express our appreciation to Mitch Parker and Jim ONeal for running the kitchen until we hired a new chef, Mart. Matt has worked at some of the best restaurants on the coast. Pin very proud to have Matt on our staff, The food has been excellent, and all members are very complimentary. We are serving more members now than in the past.
Please come support Matt and the club.

We suffered some pier damage due to Tropical Storm Cindy, including losing the pier by the Flying Scots. Jeffrey and Glenn Ellis replaced the pier so sailing lessons could continue. Craig Edwards and Jim Guthrie were a tremendous help picking up boards and repairing damaged areas.

I appreciate the cooperation given by boat owners in the marina during the recent tropical weather. It looks like it will he a long season, and we appreciate your evacuating as
often as asked.

Dodge the storms; come have a great meal at the club.

Jerry J. Ellis,
Commodore
