From the Commodore To quiet rumors, there are no agreements with anyone to sell our Yacht Club. I met with the Ladies Auxiliary this month; we had a very good, informative meeting. Jimmy Wetzel and crew, Mitch Parker, Jim O'Neal, Dixie Hollis, Billy Hollis, Lester Lala, Walter Blessy, Wendell Lee, myself and others prepared the corned beef cabbage, starting at 7:30am, and didn't stop until everyone was full. Brenda, Phil, Tina and Barbara came in at 7:30am and worked until we closed at 7pm. I want to thank all the volunteers who put in a long day to make this event a success. Everyone's help was greatly appreciated. I know I personally appreciate all you are doing in support of the Biloxi Yacht Club and myself. Wendell Lee installed a water line across the parking lot for a faucet on the west side for Thelma and her crew to water plants. His donation of time and materials means a lot to the Club. A special thanks to everyone who purchased a fundraiser ticket. This is our biggest event to raise money for the Club. We greatly appreciate your help. We are looking forward to the upcoming GORC, which is April 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Scotty Scott and committee are working very hard to make this event successful. Spring is coming, the pool will open soon, and the boats will be put in the water for sailing. I hope to see all of you at the Club. Sincerely Yours,
Jerry J. Ellis,

The Green Column This spring season is starting off just the way I like it! We've had a great turnout for the clean-up sessions. Thursday the 17th we had Ethel, Lou, Kevin, Suzie and Richard D. (the big Friday Night loser) cleaning around the pool. Saturday the 19th we had Frank, David, Mary, Dovel, Jude, Cindy, Suzie, Barbara, Jack, Craig, Eugene, Dianne and Sandra Smith. You send her every time in your place Robert. She's a great gardener. As I am having one of my senior moments I forgot the name of the other couple who came all the way from Pensacola to help us. Please forgive me. You may have to reintroduce yourselves several times before I finally remember your names. Oh yes, Mike Smith almost made it. Several of the crew went on out to the pier to do some work out there after they finished at the club. We thank you all for your participation. Friday the 11th Richard J. handed me some money for the grounds and on the 18th he gave me some more. That Friday night just kept on getting better. Joe Suarez won the "split the pot" and donated it back to the Grounds Committee. Joe and Richard have one themselves an honorary spot on our crew. We'll start putting in blooming annuals soon. If you want to help just come on out on Thursday mornings. The work isn't hard, the pay isn't good but the company is first rate.
